As an industry partner of Trakcja S.A., we carried out comprehensive works in the field of telecommunication infrastructure and railway systems as part of the modernisation of the E20 railway line on the Warsaw – Poznań section — one of the most important transport corridors in Poland, forming part of the international E20 route connecting Berlin with Moscow and being a key element of the trans-European transport network TEN-T. A project of this scale required not only the delivery and installation of devices, but the full integration of many independent systems into a single, coherent security and passenger information management platform.
The scope of work included the construction, installation, configuration and commissioning of telecommunication systems, including:
CSDIP — deployment of the Central Dynamic Passenger Information System at the Łowicz Główny station, providing passengers with up-to-date, reliable information about timetables and current train movements via displays, info-kiosks and voice messages.
Security — installation of modern security systems, including video surveillance (CCTV), access control (KD) and intruder and hold-up alarm systems (SSWiN), covering facilities and devices dispersed across the entire modernised section.
Telecommunications — modernisation and construction of the railway telecommunication network, forming the backbone of data transmission for all the systems deployed.
Technical infrastructure — installation of telecommunication containers and railway traffic control (SRK) devices, crucial for the safe running of trains on the modernised section.
Fire protection — equipping the telecommunication containers with dedicated fixed fire-extinguishing installations (SUG) and automatic extinguishing systems, guaranteeing the highest level of safety for the critical electronic and telecommunication equipment.
Tests and formalities — carrying out a full cycle of tests and operational trials and preparing complete as-built documentation, necessary for the formal acceptance and approval of the systems for operation.
The heart of security management on this section became the Local Control Centre (LCS) in Łowicz. We based it on our proprietary PSIM-class software — FALCON, entirely designed and developed by Polish programmers and dedicated to the specific security needs of railway infrastructure. The system integrates over 150 locations on the modernised section, combining data from intruder and hold-up alarm systems, fire alarm, access control, automatic extinguishing and the monitoring of the facilities’ technical infrastructure (climatic parameters, power, heating), and thanks to support for protocols such as REST API, BACnet and Modbus, it cooperates both with Sat-System‘s own solutions (including CSDIP, HUSAR) and with third-party systems — VMS, KD or BMS. FALCON PSIM continuously processes hundreds of events, enabling LCS operators to have full, centralised supervision over security and passenger information processes across the entire modernised section of the E-20 line.
The work was carried out while maintaining high standards of quality and safety, taking into account the demanding conditions and the specific nature of railway infrastructure — confirming the competence of Sat-System as a supplier of comprehensive, fully integrated solutions for the largest modernisation projects of the Polish railways.
