The station located in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship underwent an enormous transformation. This is PKP Pionki, a station under conservation protection. Thanks to the investment, the façade regained its historic appearance and its former pearl-white colour scheme. The joinery, styled to look historic, was painted green. The original architectural details were also recreated, e.g. roof attics, and the external stairs were repaired. At the top of the façade on the city side, the PKP symbol from the 1920s was restored. The station’s surroundings also underwent a transformation.
We must also not forget Pionki Zachodnie, which at the same time also underwent a transformation. However, this station has a completely different style. The building’s façade gained a more modern character thanks to the light colour of the plaster, complemented by anthracite-coloured façade blinds. New features on the façades are the illuminated letters with the station’s name, as well as clocks on the façades facing the city and the platforms.
Thanks to the reconstruction, the Pionki and Pionki Zachodnie stations became friendly to people with disabilities and to the environment, but also safe. Modern technical solutions were implemented in the buildings, as well as an intelligent Building Management System.
To the stations we delivered and commissioned Station Summary Displays, Information Displays, a Public-Address System, a Video Monitoring System, a Time Signalling System, an Access Control System, an Intruder and Hold-up Alarm System and a call-for-help system.
Both investments were carried out as part of the Station Investment Programme with EU co-financing from the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.
