The Polish Chamber of Manufacturers of Devices and Services for the Railways, together with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., invited to Warsaw the participants of another edition of the conference dedicated to the development of railway infrastructure. The event traditionally became a meeting place for manufacturers, contractors and infrastructure managers — an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the directions in which the Polish railways are heading.
This year’s proceedings focused on the delivery of the industry’s key investment and maintenance programmes:
- National Railway Programme (PLN 66 billion) — comprehensive modernisation and expansion of the railway line network, raising the technical parameters of the routes and traffic safety.
- Multi-year Maintenance Programme (PLN 23 billion) — ensuring the continuity and reliability of the existing infrastructure through systematic maintenance work.
- Station Investment Programme (PLN 1.5 billion) — reconstruction and construction of stations, including Innovative System Stations, with an emphasis on modern passenger information.
- Programme for the development of a network of open transhipment terminals and improving access to seaports (PLN 1.5 billion) — strengthening the role of the railways in freight and intermodal transport.
An important thread of the discussion was also the implementation in railway projects of the guidelines of the government’s Accessibility Plus Programme — so that the railway space is fully accessible to all travellers, including people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
The conference had a special dimension for us — it was on that very day that our company joined the group of enterprises affiliated with the Chamber. This membership is confirmation of our commitment to the development of the Polish railways and a step towards even closer cooperation with industry leaders.
